​"John Crawford worked for me at Village Chrysler Jeep from early 2005 to September 2007. He was initially hired without prior dealership experience, to be trained as a parts counterman and driver. Over-time with changes in personnel, we lost the parts manager to my amazement, John stepped up to prove he had quickly acquired enough knowledge to run the parts department alone. Single handedly controlling my inventory, orchestrating a wholesale program, while still finding time to do account visits to develop wholesale business. More recently, our service manager and warranty administrator have taken extended vacations. John on top of his parts management duties did an incredible job subbing in for both. If it we not to the fact I am selling my franchise I would have never allowed someone of his caliber to leave. "It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have had the opportunity to work with John Crawford during my tenure as District Manager at Advance Auto Parts. John's performance during that time frame has been outstanding. He has operated as a Store Manager and far exceeded all expectations. He aggressively performed at a standard that differentiated him from the rest of his peers not only in my district, but also throughout the region. This result has allowed him to develop himself as a person of influence within the region.
One of the key factors that differentiated Mr. Crawford was his commitment to the district. On many occasions he would take it upon himself to support other stores that were not performing to an acceptable level through his personal involvement. This often happened during his free time. He exemplified true altruism in these situations because the benefit was solely the store that he was supporting. He did this with humility and without expecting any residual benefits from his support. Mr. Crawford positioned himself to a level where he had the respect of each and every one of his peers in the district and became a resource for other District Managers in the region.

Mr. Crawford will have a very successful career in whatever position or company he commits to . To Mr. Crawford, failure is simply not an option. He overcomes, but he does it with the mindset of servant leadership and more importantly, with integrity. "John recruited me from a local competitor to work as a Commercial Parts Pro at Advance Auto Parts. John was a store manager at this time and was building his team for a new store opening in Marlton, NJ. I was initially impressed in how tactful and knowledgeable he was, for being as young as he was, and myself being almost 10 years older. The team he put together was a truly great one. I remember how we always stayed motivated and had the same goals. He kept us all informed and on the same page. Our bond was so strong, I still keep in touch with much of that team as we have all moved on in our lives. The team he built had a bond I've never experienced before and haven't since.
I personally have grown during my time with John. John is very intelligent and wise for his years, and I learned from him right away. I was skillful in my role and John knew that. However, I had one shortcoming, my attitude. It needed some adjusting and I can be very stubborn but John had a way of speaking to me that got me off my high horse and to calm down and listen. During our interactions I picked up many things from John. He taught me how to better assess situations before reacting (that was a big one for me) leadership skills, being proactive, being more tactful in my personal interactions.
With those lessons learned, today I'm a store manager of a parts store in my local town less than a mile from where I live. My time with John was positive and has helped me grow as a person and better myself professionally. I am sure wherever he may go, big things lie ahead for him."

"I worked as a General Manager under John Crawford’s leadership for Advance Auto Parts, while he was our District Leader for approximately 18 months in Fort Wayne Indiana. During that time our district had unprecedented growth, which has not been matched since his Ohio transfer. More than that, John grew our group of General Managers in strength as individuals. John was not a dictator as some upper management can be. John would take the time to tell us why tasks needed done and the why's behind it, rather than just barking orders.
